Stake Primary Activity Day Girls

We had our annual Stake Primary Activity Day for the Activity day girls ages 8-11.  The theme for the day was B.A.C.K.--"Becoming a Covenant Keeper".  President Peterson spoke to the girls for a few minutes about what it means to make a covenant with God.  We then went into our painting projects. I had vinyl temple silouettes cut and I placed them on an 8x10 canvas before. We were prepared for 100 girls and we had 84 come. They painted them however they wanted. While they were painting they had a colored paper pinned to them. That told them what table to go sit at when they were finished. We had paper and crayons/pencils on each table for them to draw with while they waited for everyone to finish.

Next we gave each table or group a bag with random items in it. They had rooms assigned and they had 20 minutes to prepare a skit about keeping covenants. They were darling and had fun meeting girls they didn't know. They did a great job on the skits too.

After the skits we served them lunch catered by my husband. Pulled pork sandwiches, creamed corn and baked beans.  Our music leader made temple sugar cookies. They turned out so cute. We didn't get any pictures of them I guess.  All in all it turned out wonderful. So many leaders helped out, thank you to them!

Teacher Appreciation--door decorating

First oil painting in 20 years, not that the other few even count.

The theme this year was Super Hero--or Super power. I wasn't excited about it but they turned out ok.

I just did the Mrs. Incredible part of this one.

Field trip to Arboretum

The weather this year made it so most the tulips weren't out yet, but they will be SOON! It was beautiful just the same!

Painting (canvas) Party

Cake I made. Love those little sixlets that are cute colors. They added just the right touch.

Some more initial canvases. They turned out so cute. But this font didn't do nearly as well as the thicker block letters. I had to repaint over all of these ones once we pulled the vinyl off. But they still turned out super cute!

Spring craft/ Peach apple cobbler

This is yellow cake mix, make it like directions say, sprinkle some cinnamon in too. Add a can of peach pie filling and apple pie filling. Put in dutch oven, cook until firm, but not dark. Serve with ice cream or whatever you want. So YUMMY!

This was my version of this: http://www.thehouseofsmiths.com/2010/02/hanging-roses-i-was-browsing-blogs.html

The lighting is off a bit but you get the idea.

Fun Birthday Party

Pin the eye on Lalaloopsy was one of the games we played.

Some cute paper flowers my friend made.

Vinyl letters on canvas, the first initial of each girl.

It was a fun party and I love their paintings!  Just pulled the letters off when they were dry.
